Why the bag names?
I could’ve just called them things like Origami, Hobo, or Crossbody — and they would’ve made sense. But that didn’t feel quite right. These bags are shaped by the natural world, and I wanted their names to reflect that.
Each one is named after a plant that feels like it holds a little personality. Tansy is neat and compact, with a soft round shape — like the clusters of golden flowers it’s named after. Sorrel is a bit more slouchy, a gentle shoulder bag with a flow to it, like its leafy namesake. Aster is the smallest, designed for simplicity and ease, but still full of charm — just like the star-shaped flowers it’s named for.
I liked the idea that the names might make you think of gardens or wild hedgerows. That they bring a bit of softness and connection to nature into something as everyday as a bag.
